This afternoon, the VIII FIFUSA Futsal World Cup continued with the fourth day of the tournament. The match between Chile and Venezuela was a goal spectacle for the Bolivarians, who won 7-0. Three goals from Ricxon Arguello (#11), two from Jhonathan Rivas (#10), and contributions from José Falcon (#3) and Jhonaiken Rongifo (#8) placed Venezuela in first place in Group B.
From the initial whistle, the Vinotinto team applied intense pressure on Chile’s defense, complicating the efforts of Cristofer Beiza’s side. After just 3 minutes, a through ball from Josue Soler (#6) enabled Ricxon Arguello (#11) to score, beating goalkeeper Pablo Quiroga (#1) and opening the scoring for Venezuela.
Just three minutes later, Arguello once again appeared on the scoreboard after receiving a pass from midfield by captain José Falcon (#3), making it 2-0 for Venezuela.
Desperate due to the adverse score, Chile attempted to react with a three-player attack. However, a turnover in the opponent's area allowed Venezuela to execute a quick counterattack, ending with a third goal by Jhonathan Rivas (#10), assisted by Arguello (#11).
Despite Venezuela’s constant pressure, Chilean goalkeeper Paolo Asiain (#1) was one of the standout performers of the match, making a remarkable save in the 10th minute to prevent a fourth goal.
However, the Bolivarians did not slow down, and in the final two minutes of the first half, they added two more goals thanks to Jhonaiken Rongifo (#8) and Ricxon Arguello (#11), both assisted again by José Falcon (#3). The first half ended with a clear 5-0 lead for Venezuela.
At the start of the second half, Chile tried to regroup, but in the 3rd minute, the Venezuelans scored again. A combination of passes ended with an assist from Josue Soler (#6) for Eduardo Pantojo (#9), who made it 6-0.
Although the last 20 minutes of the match were more balanced, Venezuela sealed the victory with a seventh goal by Jhonathan Rivas (#10) in the 19th minute.
With this victory, Venezuela takes first place in Group B with 5 points and a goal difference of +12, while Chile is in third place with 0 points and a goal difference of -8.
