In a match full of contrasts, Ecuador convincingly defeated Pakistan with a final score of 15-0, in the last game of the second day of Group D in the VIII FIFUSA Futsal World Cup. This victory represents the biggest win of the tournament so far.

Pakistan, who had just arrived in Bucaramanga a few hours before the match after overcoming visa issues, faced a tough situation. After being in transit for three days, the Pakistani team made their debut under adverse conditions. The match, initially scheduled for 10:30 p.m., started almost an hour later, close to 11:30 p.m., due to logistical delays.

Despite the challenges, the Pakistani team showed glimpses of good football, with movements that demonstrated technique and effort. However, the accumulated fatigue was evident. Ecuador took advantage of the situation from the start, imposing a fast pace and ending the first half with a commanding 10-0 lead. Despite the determination of the Pakistani players to defend their goal, they couldn't withstand Ecuador’s pressure, which maintained dominance until the final whistle.

Ecuador’s goals were scored as follows:

  • Iyercos García (#9) scored four goals

  • Joiber Bastidas (#18) also scored four goals

  • Cristian Oviedo (#7) contributed two goals

  • Alexis Briones (#3), Óscar Collantes (#11), and Damian Vega (#4) each added one goal.

Although the result was overwhelming, Ecuador clearly dominated from the first minute to the last. The second half saw an additional 5-0, consolidating a historic 15-0 for the South American team. Despite the heavy defeat, Pakistan showed that with better preparation and rest, they could have a more respectable showing in the next games, displaying flashes of good football that did not go unnoticed.
