In a match full of contrasts, Ecuador decisively defeated Pakistan with a final score of 15-0 in the last match of the second day of Group D at the VIII FIFUSA Futsal World Cup. This victory marks the biggest win of the

tournament so far.

Pakistan, which had just arrived in Bucaramanga only a few hours before the match after overcoming visa issues, faced a challenging scenario. After spending three days in transit, the Pakistani team made its debut under adverse circumstances. The match, initially scheduled for 10:30 p.m., started almost an hour late,

nearing 11:30 p.m., due to logistical delays.

Despite the difficulties, the Pakistan team showed brief flashes of good football, with movements that displayed technique and effort. However, their accumulated fatigue was evident. Ecuador took advantage of the situation from the start, imposing a frenetic pace and closing the first half with a dominant 10-0 lead.

Despite the determination shown by the Pakistani players to defend their goal, they couldn’t withstand Ecuador’s pressure, which remained strong until the final whistle.

Ecuador’s goals came as follows:

• Iyercos García (#9) scored four goals

• Joiber Bastidas (#18) also with four goals

• Cristian Oviedo (#7) contributed with two goals

• Alexis Briones (#3), Óscar Collantes (#11), and Damian Vega (#4) each scored one goal.

Though the result was overwhelming, Ecuador dominated clearly from the first minute to the end. The second half concluded with an additional 5-0, sealing a historic 15-0 win for the South American team.

Despite the crushing scoreline, Pakistan demonstrated that, with better preparation and rest, they could put in a more respectable performance in their upcoming matches, showing flashes of good football that didn’t go unnoticed.
