This afternoon, the VIII FIFUSA Futsal World Cup continued with the third day of the tournament, where Panama made a resounding debut with a 6-1 victory over the Czech Republic. In a match full of excitement and goals, the Central Americans dominated, while the Czechs could only manage one consolation goal.
Panama's goals were scored by Edgar Carvajal (#2) twice, Michael Saavedra (#5), Edgar Rivas (#9), Brayan Hurst (#3), and Jarol Hinotoza (#7), each contributing one. Tomas Abraham (#7) scored the only goal for the Czech Republic.
The match, part of Group C, was frenetic from the first few minutes, with both teams looking to open the scoring. Both Carlos Secaida (#1) of Panama and Andrej Slany (#1) of the Czech Republic were key figures in the first half, keeping their nets safe until the 15th minute. It was then, after a recovery from Panama, that Jarol Hinotoza (#7) broke the deadlock with a powerful right-footed shot into the top corner.
The first half ended in a 1-1 tie after Tomas Abraham (#7) capitalized on a rebound from a shot by Tomas Pecka (#10) that hit the post, sending the ball into the back of the net in the 19th minute. In the second half, Panama came out determined to take the win. Just two minutes in, Edgar Rivas (#9) scored the second goal after a recovery by Brayan Hurst (#3).
A minute later, a combination between Rivas and Michael Saavedra (#5) extended the lead to 3-1. The fourth goal came from a long-range shot by Edgar Carvajal (#2), who scored again minutes before the final whistle, sealing the 6-1 scoreline for Panama. The Czechs had a chance to cut the deficit with a penalty, but Carlos Secaida (#1) played the hero by saving the shot.
Panama achieved a convincing victory in their debut, while the Czech Republic continues to look for improvements in the tournament.
