The fourth day of the VIII FIFUSA Futsal World Cup brought the first victory for the Czech Republic, who won 7-1 against Guatemala. The Czechs, coming off tough defeats against Argentina and Panama, looked much more solid in this match, while Guatemala suffered their second defeat of the championship.

The Czech Republic took the initiative from the first minutes, with a determined attack, while

Guatemala opted for counterattacks. Both teams displayed good ball control, moving the ball from side to side, which generated numerous goal-scoring opportunities.

The match was characterized by an intense back-and-forth rhythm, with both teams seeking the opponent’s goal. Despite Guatemala’s efforts, the Czech Republic was much more efficient in their finishing. Czech coach Ales Storc, true to his style, made multiple substitutions throughout the match, constantly refreshing his team with up to four field player changes.

The Czech scoring spree began thanks to Tomás Pecka (#10), who scored the first goal with a powerful right-footed shot at the 16:43 mark of the first half, assisted by Tomás Voboril (#8). Pecka scored again at 2:33 of the second half, once again assisted by Voboril, and the scoreboard showed a clear 5-0 lead at the end of the first half.

Guatemala managed to pull one back in the second half with a goal from Osbeli Kwon (#8), who capitalized on a series of rebounds in the Czech area to beat the goalkeeper. However, the Czech Republic quickly responded, and Martin Sop (#4), assisted by Jiri Muzik (#6), sealed the victory by scoring the seventh goal for his team.

With this victory, the Czech Republic revives its hopes of advancing in the tournament, while

Guatemala, still without a win, still has opportunities to qualify for the next phase.
