On the fourth day of the VIII FIFUSA Indoor Soccer World Championship, the host team of Colombia sealed a resounding victory against Haiti with a score of 14-1. With this victory, Colombia secured the lead in the group, while Haiti remains undefeated in the tournament.
Colombia, which came after victories against France and the United States, sought to maintain its streak and close the group stage with a perfect performance. Haiti, for its part, was hoping to get its first win and improve its goal difference after a tough 0-8 loss against France.
Colombian dominance was clear from the beginning, and at minute 4, Brayan Ángel (#9) opened the scoring after a three-touch collective play, assisted by Daniel Bentancourt (#11). Just two minutes later, Ángel returned the favor to Bentancourt, who with a powerful shot increased the lead for the home team.
Colombia did not stop pressing, and in the 7th minute, Bentancourt scored his second goal after a pass from Daniel Rojas (#13). Ángel, in great form, added his second goal in the 9th minute, and Bentancourt completed his hat-trick with a powerful shot in the 10th minute, leaving the score 5-0 in favor of Colombia.
The dominance continued, and in the 11th minute, Carlos Colmenares (#10) scored the sixth goal after a corner kick taken by Juan Diego Viveros (#8). Alexis Sánchez (#6) added the seventh goal in the 12th minute, before Haiti scored with an own goal from Viveros (#8).
Colmenares responded quickly to the goal against, scoring his second goal in the 13th minute after eluding a Haitian defender. The ninth goal came in the 16th minute when Colmenares completed his hat trick with a cross shot after a precise pass from Viveros.
At the end of the first half, Colombia dominated with a massive 9-1, demonstrating their offensive capacity and team cohesion.
In the second half, Colombia continued with its overwhelming pace. Jorge Vargas (#14) scored the tenth goal at minute 1 after an assist from Alexis Sánchez (#6), who also assisted Josué Romero (#15) for the eleventh goal at minute 2. Romero continued unstoppable, completing his hat trick with goals in minutes 6 and 9 of the second half.
The final score of 14-1 was sealed in the 17th minute by Miguel Arciniegas (#4), who took advantage of a corner kick executed by Colmenares to score the last goal of the game.
