The VIII FIFUSA World Cup continued today with the second day of the tournament. The match between Brazil and Australia was marked by intensity and strategy, ending with a narrow 2-1 victory for the Brazilians.

Brazil, who came off a 10-1 win against Mexico in their debut, faced a tougher challenge than expected against Australia, making its debut in the tournament. The Brazilian team took the initiative from the first few minutes, attacking with determination, while Australia waited for opportunities to counterattack.

At minute 16:30 of the first half, Josh Gardner (#8) broke the deadlock for Australia with a precise left-footed shot to the near post, following an excellent team play assisted by Hunier Hoiko (#14). Australia led 1-0.

Brazil, refusing to give up, kept pressing but found a solid wall in goalkeeper Bradley Peryman (#20). However, at minute 14:29, the Brazilian effort paid off when Jheferson Oliveira (#11) assisted Leonardo Dourado (#8), who scored the equalizer with a shot to the far post. Brazil 1-1 Australia.

In the final minutes of the first half, a foul on the edge of the box gave Brazil a chance to break the deadlock. After a set-piece play, Malier Cámara (#9) set up Rafael Meireles (#6), who finished precisely into the top corner, making it 2-1 for Brazil just before halftime.

The second half was characterized by a more physical game, with Australia showing solid defense, and Bradley Peryman continued to be the man of the match, saving his team multiple times. Despite Brazil’s efforts to extend their lead, the score remained unchanged.

The referee blew the final whistle with the clock at zero, leaving Brazil with their second consecutive victory in the tournament, while Australia suffered their first defeat but still kept their hopes alive of advancing to the next stage.
