This morning, the VIII FIFUSA Futsal World Cup continued with the first knockout round. The match between Brazil and Haiti was notable for the number of goals and sportsmanship, ending with a 9-0 victory for the home team.

Brazil, who topped Group D, faced a relatively easy challenge against a Haiti team that had finished last in Group A but advanced to the next round due to goal difference. Brazil completely dominated the match from start to finish, with precise plays, passing, and goals.

Special recognition was given to the Haitian team, which, despite having a short roster, presented themselves with honor for this phase, even playing today with one of their players nursing a left knee injury that limited his performance.

Brazil focused on passing plays, while Haiti relied on individual skills and counterattacks. The match was only contested for the first 20 minutes, as both teams agreed that Haiti was physically unable to complete the full 40-minute halves. Therefore, after the first 20 minutes, the match was called. Some of the goals came from Matheus Gabriel (#13), who was named the best player of the match despite starting on the bench. He changed the dynamic for Brazil and scored multiple goals.

An own goal by Haiti's captain, Leo Francisque (#9), at 13:56 in the first half, made it 3-0, shattering the morale of the Central American team. Brazil accelerated in the following minutes, with Walier Silva sealing the 8th and 9th goals at 3:50 and 2:40, respectively.

The referee blew the final whistle with the clock at zero, securing Brazil's spot in the quarterfinals, while Haiti bowed out of the 2024 FIFUSA World Cup with their heads held high, earning the respect of fans and rival teams alike.
